Cedric Benson Continues To Be A Motivational Expert

Cedric Benson was arrested on an assault charge over the weekend.  This is the second year in a row he has allegedly been involved in an assault of some type in his home state of Texas.  Last summer, it was interaction with a bar employee.  This summer, he was mingling with a current/former “household member.”

Benson will be an unrestricted free agent when the NFL lockout ends.  He has been working out with Bengal players during this time in the hope Cincinnati will want him to continue there.

You may recall I covered Cedric’s leadership skills in a prior post.  He was trying to give some motivational love to Carson Palmer…while simultaneously shoving him out the door.

Cedric, I have no doubt Cincinnati will welcome you back with open arms should you still be allowed to roam free society. We have discussed here how distressed their franchise is.

Good heavens, cornerback Pacman Jones was arrested last week for intoxication and resisting arrest and the Bengals acted as if it was business as usual…because it IS business as usual in Cincinnati.  It is no accident the players wear stripes there, a throwback tribute to the history of incarceration unis.

Cedric, just to cover all bases you might want to conduct future workouts in a prison jumpsuit so you can get the feel of it.  I am not sure the courts or the NFL will be as forgiving as the Bengals.  I am sure based on your history with the Bears (two alcohol-related arrests) and Bengals (see above) you someday will get to offer your life advice on what people should do with their lives to a captive audience.

I’ve said it before Bengals fans…PLEASE…time to swim the moat…drop the drawbridge…storm the castle…and take your team back.  Summon Harry Potter.  Whatever it takes.
