Giants Still Smell Victory…Phillies Get Push Pins For Their October Bulletin Board

San Francisco Giants first baseman Aubrey Huff…when asked Tuesday what it was like to be back in the visitors’ clubhouse at Citizens Bank Park since San Fran clinched the National League Championship Series in Philly last October 23rd…

“It still has that mildew smell in the carpet from the alcohol; that’s the first thing I noticed when I walked in.”

Ray Parrillo of the Philly Inquirer went on to quote Huff as indicating the Giants were fortunate to miss facing both Roy Halladay or Cliff Lee in the Phils’ rotation this time in… and Huff felt both the Giants and Phillies were in good positions to make another run at the title again this season.

Sorry, Aubrey.  First quote duly noted.  You have soiled not only the good name of the cleaning crew at CBP but also reinserted that bad taste in the collective mouth of Philadelphia (and that’s one big mouth…) of how last Fall went down here.  Clinching the NLCS on our field was unacceptable.

We will defend the honor of our city…and especially…our cleaning service.  Come October Philadelphia will be a dry town…at least as far as the San Francisco Giants are concerned.

What! I didn’t know he said that. Was that his way of taking a stab at us? Rubbing it in? Now he’s got all of Philly mad…good one Aubrey

  2. He did, Danielle. I’m not buying the complimentary stuff afterwards about both teams being strong againt this season…I more focused on his rubbing it in about our rugs. They’ll have mildew on their bats come October if they make it back to Philly. Thanks for stopping by!
